VizBuddy is a Chrome extension that captures screenshots of browser tabs and analyzes them using AI. This policy explains what data is involved and how it is handled.
When you click "Analyze Screen," VizBuddy takes a screenshot of your active browser tab and sends it to VizBuddy's secure backend for processing. The image is passed to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your analysis. Screenshots are not stored — they are processed in memory and discarded immediately after the analysis is returned.
VizBuddy automatically creates an anonymous account when you first use the extension. This generates a random user ID stored locally on your device and in our database. No name, email, or personal information is required or linked to this account.
To enforce daily usage limits, VizBuddy stores your anonymous user ID and a daily usage count (analyses and composed messages) on our servers. This data is associated with your anonymous ID only and resets each day.
If you choose to join the Pro waitlist, your email address is collected and stored. It is used solely to notify you when the Pro tier launches. You will receive one email from PlotStack. Your email is never sold or shared with third parties.
VizBuddy stores the following on your device only, using Chrome's local storage:
